Great for kids

awesome place for the kids to play an have fun, plus it has a shelter

Depauw Park has been in Salem for at least 75 years. In 2001 a new section was added known as Riley's Place. Riley was the two year old son Wade and Jennifer Tomlinson. He tragically drowned in a neighbor's pool. As a tribute to their son the Tomlinson's qemraised noney in the community and but a playground that included some of the historical landmarks of Salem and Washington county Indiana. Construction began on September 11,While most of the country was trying to come to grips with the horrific terrorist attack that fateful day. In Salem Indiana a team of over 200 volunteers started construction of Riley's Place. .-Foir days later on Sept. 14,2001 Jennifer and Wade Tomlinson dedicated Rey's Place by launching their sob's favorite toy, helium fllled balloons heavenward for Riley. Today and for many years to come local families will be able to bring their children and grand children to this wonderful play ground. To me a symbol of America's strength. Terrorist could tear down buildings, but the American spirit showed through in tiny Salem, we but a monument that turned tragedy to triumph.

Nice place

Kids loved it.
